Post Card Requests

My name is Anthony Moore, a photographer from the Portland area. As an art project, I wanted to send out postcards to strangers in the U.S. and Canada. These postcards will be sent out via the USPS and will include a handwritten note from me with either a description of where the photo on your postcard was taken, or maybe a little story about the photo and what it means to me.

Examples of different photos I’ve selected as PostCard worthy. I have about 15 designs so far and I select the one I send at random.

FAQ:

  • Does this cost anything? Nope, I just bought a bulk of prepaid postcard stamps from USPS.
  • Where will you send it? Anywhere in the US or Canada (Note: I have fewer international stamps, so first come first serve here)
  • Will you save my address? After the postcard is in the mail, I will delete the request from the local database I’m using to track requests. I don’t need to keep people on file and I would like this to stay anonymous for requesters.
  • Will you send a postcard to my Friends, Family and Enemies? Yes to all of the above, do you want to send your mom a nice card, or passively aggressively send someone a nice postcard even though you don’t like them I’ll do it. Please don’t abuse the form. This is a fun art project, and I don’t want to be known as the guy who bombarded someone with my photos.
  • Will you accept a return letter/card/note? Absolutely, I won’t be including my address on the postcard itself so USPS doesn’t accidentally mail me my own card. (This has happened, so I had to stop). If you reach out to me on Threads, I will be happy to provide a return address.
  • How often do you send Cards? I try to look weekly. I am a known procrastinator, so please allow 1-2 weeks for delivery. I will do my best. Note, I will be on a road trip from Aug 17-Sept 21, non-road trip related post cards will be delayed until I’m back – I can’t take a printer with me on the road.
